This week, Daily Travel Source spotlights Ibiza Gran Hotel — a Mediterranean icon where art, gastronomy, and wellness converge in perfect harmony. Set along Ibiza’s golden mile, the hotel captures the island’s evolving spirit, balancing its vibrant energy with moments of calm and renewal. We spoke with Jenny Nerman, Communications & Creative Director, about how Ibiza Gran Hotel continues to redefine modern luxury on the White Isle.

Ibiza has long been known for its nightlife, but today the island is equally celebrated for wellness and culture. How does Ibiza Gran Hotel embody this balance between indulgence and tranquility?

Ibiza Gran Hotel embodies the balance between indulgence and tranquility by offering guests the best of both worlds on the island. Nestled in the heart of Ibiza’s ‘golden mile,’ the hotel allows visitors to immerse themselves in vibrant energy and exceptional dining at Ibiza’s first Michelin-starred hotel restaurant, La Gaia by Óscar Molina, alongside globally recognized venues like Zuma, Cipriani, and the exclusive nightclub Club Chinois. Guests can also enjoy proximity to glamorous nightlife, two dazzling pools, and curated cultural and lifestyle experiences, from personal shopping in Ibiza’s Old Town and wine tasting at Can Rich Vineyard to private culinary journeys and island excursions.

At the same time, the newly reimagined 14,000-square-foot Open Spa provides a sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation, with personalized treatments, open-air rituals, one of the island’s largest hydrotherapy circuits, and state-of-the-art fitness facilities. The hotel’s 187 impeccably designed suites, many with sweeping views of the Bay of Ibiza, Dalt Vila, and Formentera, offer serene retreats for quiet reflection, while a curated art collection and thoughtful design throughout the property create a sense of calm and inspiration. By seamlessly integrating high-energy experiences with spaces and offerings designed for rest, wellness, and cultural immersion, Ibiza Gran Hotel allows guests to experience the full spectrum of Ibiza’s evolving spirit, where indulgence and tranquility exist in perfect harmony.

This season the hotel unveiled several transformations, from the redesigned spa to the new lobby and bar. What was the vision behind these updates, and how do they reflect the evolving spirit of Ibiza?

The vision behind our latest transformations was to capture the evolving spirit of Ibiza, one that blends modern sophistication with the island’s authentic Mediterranean soul. For the 2025 season, this came to life in reimagined spaces such as La Gaia by Óscar Molina and Musa, our new cocktail bar, both designed with organic textures and flowing forms that reflect Ibiza’s natural beauty and creative pulse. Renovated in 2024, Open Spa further embodies this vision, offering a sanctuary for balance and rejuvenation through personalized treatments, open-air rituals, and an expansive hydrotherapy circuit featuring heated whirlpool baths, mist and contrast showers, ice lounge, hammam, sauna and more – all illuminated by natural light for an experience truly unique to Ibiza Gran Hotel. At the heart of the property, the striking five-story lobby has also been recently transformed with a clean, minimalist design and large-scale Balearic artwork, including a centerpiece sculpture ‘Posidonia’ by Mallorcan artist Joan Costa, creating an inviting and playful connection between spaces. Together, these updates ensure that every aspect of Ibiza Gran Hotel continues to inspire guests with fresh perspectives on the island, where art, wellness, gastronomy, and design seamlessly converge.

La Gaia by Óscar Molina is already a Michelin-starred icon. With its new design and menus, how is the restaurant redefining Ibizan gastronomy for today’s travelers?

La Gaia is redefining Ibizan gastronomy by offering a culinary journey that goes far beyond the plate. Through food and hospitality, it connects travelers to the island’s culture and Mediterranean setting in a way that is both creative and sincere. Menus reflect the true essence of Ibiza’s surroundings and community, drawing inspiration from local farmers, fishermen, and producers while elevating these traditions through a personal vision. La Gaia is committed to creating haute cuisine that respects the integrity of local produce and celebrates the authenticity, seasonality, and unique richness of our island.

Art is deeply woven into the property, with over 400 works and the partnership with Lio Malca. Why is art such an important part of the guest experience at Ibiza Gran Hotel?

Art is central to the guest experience at Ibiza Gran Hotel as it transforms the pulse of the property from a place to stay into an atmosphere of discovery, reflection and connection. With more than 400 contemporary works inspired by the island’s light, nature and spirit and how they react with the sea, our collection surrounds guests with creativity that awakens the senses and mirrors the essence of Ibiza itself. Our partnership with Lio Malca and Nave de Salinas allows guests exclusive access to one of the island’s most renowned contemporary collections, further enhancing the sense of wonder. By weaving art into every space and designing each floor around one of the five elements – earth, air, life, water, and sky – we invite everyone to feel part of a living gallery, leaving them with a memorable and transformative experience.

For guests looking for something truly unforgettable, what would you say is the ultimate “only at Ibiza Gran Hotel” experience?

For guests seeking the pinnacle of Ibizan luxury, our Gran Suite Dalt Vila stands unrivaled as one of the island’s most coveted accommodations. With interiors by acclaimed Spanish designer Sandra Tarruella, this expansive 1,600-square-foot loft offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Ibiza and Formentera, along with a 1,900-square-foot terrace featuring a heated infinity pool, outdoor jacuzzi, and solarium shaded by an olive tree. Every element is designed to elevate the art of indulgence, from private Bentley airport transfers and butler service to bespoke pajama sets that can be personalized with your initials.
