Spend an afternoon wandering through the galleries, discover a locally owned restaurant, and make time to experience the incredible natural beauty of the lakeshore. When I think of Saugatuck, I think of a welcoming, inclusive destination that is particularly well-suited for an adult getaway. While the beaches and ice cream shops are wonderful for families, so much of Saugatuck's magic lies in its art galleries, exceptional restaurants, independent boutiques, and natural beauty.
The Hotel Saugatuck embraces that same spirit. We're an adults-only boutique hotel where our approach is simple: genuine, warm hospitality in a comfortable and welcoming setting. We want our guests to feel completely at ease, whether they're celebrating a special occasion or simply escaping the demands of everyday life.
Our location is one of my favorite things about the property. We're perfectly situated between Saugatuck and Douglas, with both downtown areas approximately a 10-minute walk away. Guests can park their cars when they arrive and spend much of their stay exploring on foot.
While some travelers prefer to stay right in the heart of downtown Saugatuck, our returning guests appreciate that we're just far enough removed from the hustle and bustle to offer a peaceful retreat. They can spend the day exploring everything the area has to offer and return to a quiet, relaxing atmosphere at the end of the day.
It's a wonderful balance of accessibility and tranquility.

Our guest rooms were designed with relaxation in mind. King-size beds, Jason hydrotherapy tubs, and three-sided fireplaces create a cozy, inviting retreat that guests genuinely look forward to returning to after an afternoon of exploring.
Guests also have the option to add our room-service breakfast experience to their stay, which is an especially welcome amenity during the busy summer months. There's something wonderful about starting your morning slowly, enjoying a freshly prepared breakfast in the comfort of your room rather than rushing downtown to secure a table at a busy restaurant.
But what truly sets The Hotel Saugatuck apart is our team.
As General Manager, I may be a little biased, but I genuinely believe we have the best staff in town. From our front-of-house team to our housekeepers and laundry staff, every member of our team takes immense pride in their work and understands the role they play in creating a memorable stay.
It's often the little things that make the biggest impression. Guests might find a handwritten note from housekeeping wishing them a happy birthday or receive a thoughtful surprise from the front desk, such as a gift card to one of our favorite local restaurants, simply because a team member learned they were celebrating something special.
