Celebrate National Barbecue Month in California’s Santa Maria Valley. Located in the heart of California's Central Coast, Santa Maria is bringing the heat and some travel-worthy flavor this May!

The area is celebrating with Sizzle Central - bringing together a barbecue bash and a fun social media campaign.

A release shared some fascinating information about the area’s heritage putting West Coast barbecue on the map!

"Santa Maria Style barbecue isn't just a dish—it's our heritage, slow-roasted over generations," said Jennifer Harrison, vice president of marketing and communications for the Santa Maria Chamber of Commerce and director of tourism for Visit Santa Maria Valley. "The Santa Maria Barbecue Festival is our way of honoring that legacy and serving up a true taste of who we are as a community."

The Santa Maria Barbecue Festival is being held on May 10 in Pioneer Park and looks like an epic date night or weekend getaway. Make sure to note that the festival is for ages 21 and up.
