The village offers a charming, walkable Main Street lined with locally owned restaurants, unique shops, colorful murals, and historic architecture that reflects generations of community pride. History enthusiasts will appreciate that Mount Morris is the birthplace of Francis Bellamy, author of the Pledge of Allegiance, and home to the beautifully preserved General William A. Mills Mansion. Another must-see is the impressive Mount Morris Dam, one of the largest concrete gravity dams east of the Mississippi, where visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the Genesee River Gorge.

If someone had two or three days to explore the area, what itinerary would you recommend?

A perfect first day begins by exploring Mount Morris itself. Spend the morning strolling Main Street, browsing local shops, admiring public murals, and soaking in the village’s historic character. Stop by the Francis Bellamy historical marker before touring the General William A. Mills Mansion for a glimpse into the region’s past. Art lovers should also visit the New Deal Gallery, home to an impressive collection of more than 200 WPA-era paintings. End the day with dinner at one of the village’s welcoming local restaurants, many of which are just a short walk from BrickInn.

Day two is dedicated to Letchworth State Park. After enjoying breakfast at BrickInn, head into the park to experience its iconic Upper, Middle, and Lower Falls.
