Destination of the Week: Element by Marriott San Diego Mission Valley

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Element by Marriott San Diego Mission Valley, and it turned out to be a perfect home base for exploring San Diego with our two young kids.

From the hotel's modern design and welcoming atmosphere to the games in the downstairs common areas and delicious morning breakfast, there were so many thoughtful touches that made our stay special. The chef even invited us to try a new pancake recipe featuring berries, which was a fun surprise! Our kids loved breakfast each morning, and it was such a nice way to start our days before heading out to explore the city.

The hotel's central location was another major highlight. We were able to take the kids to museums in beautiful Balboa Park and enjoy some great food in North Park. We especially recommend the San Diego Natural History Museum for families and Pomegranate for a memorable meal.

Back at the hotel, our spacious guest room had the same fresh, modern feel as the rest of the property, along with an incredible view. Traveling with young kids means having a little extra space makes a huge difference, and this room delivered. The kitchenette was especially convenient, with a full-size refrigerator for storing our daughter's milk and a kitchen sink that came in handy throughout our stay. There was also a pullout couch for our son and plenty of room for our daughter's pack-and-play.

Another highlight was being able to enjoy the nearby San Diego Marriott Mission Valley, which almost felt like an extension of our hotel experience. We had some great burgers and spent time enjoying the beautiful pool, adding another fun element to our family getaway.

What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. The staff at both properties were incredibly friendly, upbeat and helpful, something we especially appreciate when traveling with two little ones.

Our son has already been asking when we can go back, which probably says it all! Between the comfortable accommodations, family-friendly amenities, convenient location and wonderful hospitality, Element by Marriott San Diego Mission Valley helped make our weekend in San Diego a truly memorable family escape.
